Sophie the Clown

August 15th, 2009

My crafty sister, Malinda, is already prepping for Halloween. She’s made several new decorations, and just finished sewing both her son’s and little nieces costumes. We haven’t been able to convince Mason to wear his yet, but here are some shots I did of her adorable niece, Sophie. Isn’t she just a doll? And isn’t [...]

We haven’t been able to convince Mason to wear his yet, but here are some shots I did of her adorable niece, Sophie. Isn’t she just a doll? And isn’t my sister amazingly talented? I can’t wait to choose a costume for Sydney (and which Malinda will most likely end up doing 98% of the work). Check out Malinda’s etsy shop for more of her homemade costumes and crafts.

she’s walking

August 5th, 2009

My baby girl decided to walk today. 12 steps is her record so far. You can see the pride on that face when she’s wabbling across the floor. :)

Needing to be in the actual photo is no longer a challenge, thanks to a tripod and a willing friend to click the shutter. TIP: set everything up ahead of time, arranging everybody and leaving a space for yourself at the end. Get a remote-control shutter-release for the person to use, tell them to use lots of toys and sounds, and just get them to shoot about 20 frames really quickly. You should get a great photo every time!
